We have a netbook that we need to plug into an external cd.  Active X was downloading and Norton Security popped up at the same time and said a Trojan was blocked; however, the Active X had rewritten about 3 files according to the log (I noted that the
Trojan was indeed blocked).  Since then, we cannot open any programs, either on the Netbook, on the Internet, or on the external cd drive.  We keep getting a menu pop up that asks what we would like to open the program with.  All programs listed seem unusable
for this process, at least to me.  Things like Media player, etc.  We can't even download a registry repair because of this menu.  We cannot do a repair from a cd as the drive isn't recognized or the menu pops up.  How can we fix this?
