Original title:  Windows 7 backup
New computer as of 5-10 and installed Windows 7 on it.
Has worked fine but have tried numerous times to do backup on CD and never completes successfully.
No error code is involved.
Just "Backup was not completed successfully.

·         Did you try with different types of CDs?
·         Are you able to back on other external storage devices like hard disk and DVDs?
 
For your information, the backup might not fail unless your backup fits on one disc and the disc is in the computer when the backup starts.
Note: You can't use a CD-ROM drive to make a backup; you must use a CD burner, also known as aCD-R or
CD-RW drive

Run CHKDSK to Fix Backup was not completed successfully” when tried to perform backup on a CD

• Go to the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Reboot your computer.
