Wireless Connection window disappearing after clicking "Connect" [Solved]

Wireless Connection window disappearing after clicking "Connect"

Hi,

I have just moved to a new location and i have a Dell Laptop.

My wireless could connect and access the internet perfectly until 01.10.09.

I set up a new wireless network at the new location and tried to connect to it wirelessly.
The dialouge box for connecting to a network opens fine and i can see the network broadcasting and in range.
I can select the network but when i click "connect", the
dialouge box disappears and i am returned to my desktop.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the wireless adaptor and installing a second wireless adaptor to make sure mine is not faulty.
The second adaptor has the same problem, whereby when i click
on connect to the network, the window disappears and my desktop appears.
I have never experienced this problem before.

I also tried to go into network and sharing centre, and click on "manage wireless connections" and add the network from there, however the dialouge window disappears when i click on "add a netowrk that is in range of this computer".

My laptop can connect to networks through ethernet(i.e.
wired) but the wireless window keeps disappearing every time i try and connect.

Please help!

Thank you
Amish

Hi Umesh and thanks for replying.

The Microsoft ISATAP Adapter is function within IPv6.
We can try to disable IPv6 and see if that resolves your issue.

To do so:
1) Go to Start and right click on Network and then click Properties.
2) Network and Sharing Center window will appear, after that click Manage network connections.
3) Network Connections window will appears.
Here you can right click on the network card that you wish to disable IPv6 and click Properties.
4) In the Local Area Connection Properties window, untick Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and click OK.

Hope this helps! Please post back and let us know if this did or did not fix your issue.
