64bit Virtual PC in a Windows 7 ultimate 64bit operating system
i have some questions regarding the virtual pc 2007, i have a pc running with windows 7 ultimate 64bit operating system and i installed a 64bit virtual pc sp1, when i tried to boot a windows 2003 server 64 bit operating system in a virtual pc it gives the
following error even my pc is running on a 64bit operating system.
"Attempting to load an X64 operating system, however this CPU is not compatible with X64.
Please install a 32-bit X86 operating system."
Anyone who have had an experience of installing 64bit operating system in a virtual PC 64bit.

I don't believe you can install 64-bit operating systems in a Virtual Machine, even if the host itself is 64-bit. The guest must be x86.
Support for 64-bit host operating systems
This release of Virtual PC 2007 supports 64-bit host operating systems.
However, there is no support for 64-bit guest operating systems.

You may find that non-Microsoft Virtual Machines are more cooperative, but I have no experience with VMware myself, so I can't advise you much on that.

Boot in Safe Mode:
- Open Run command as previously described
- Type MSConfig
- Click on Boot tab
- Tick Safe boot in Boot option
- Select Network
- Click Apply and OK
- Reboot your system
Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
