32 bit / 64 bit compatibility

I am in the market for a new machine to replace my now old 32 bit machine.
I have a bunch of 32 bit software that I would like to install on the new machine...for instance Visual Studios, SQL Server, etc.
Now I only have the 32 bit versions of these software
but all the new machines are 64 bit.
My question is...would I be able to install these apps on the 64 bit machine, and would they function just right?
