Cannot access Network Drive
I have two laptops, One is windows 7 the other is windows 8 (just installed).
I have a WD MyBookLive and a printer on the network.
Before installing Windows 8, that laptop was able to connect to and see the MyBookLive just fine along with the Windows
7 machine.
After I installed Windows 8, I tried to connect to the network drive and it tells me that the network name \\MyBookLive is not there, even though it shows it as part of my network.
I can ping the ip address of the network drive and connect to
the web interface of the network drive with the windows 8 machine.
I am unable to connect to the network drive through explorer or the web interface's java program.
I can connect through ftp but then I am unable to retrieve or send any files to the device.
My windows 7 machine works great with the Network drive.
What I have already tried:
Disabling Windows Firewall and Defender
Enabling Netbios on my network adapter
Updating firmware on device
Windows 8 is up to date
Creating a new user on the Network Drive
Setting static IP on windows 8 machine (Network Drive is already static)
Connecting directly to the Network Drive (No Switch, Static IPs, matching subnet, etc..)
Downloading WD Software
None of these have worked.
