DISK DEFRAG in Windows 7 OS will not work

Hello

I need some help trying to get disk defrag on windows 7 os to work.
It worked for about 2 weeks and then stopped working.
This is a new computer only 4 weeks old.
I have disk defrag pinned to the start menu and when i click it it just goes back to the desktop and i do not see defrag launch.
There is no error code.
I have tried this .."First thing to do is to make sure the services for the Disk defragmenter is started and automatic.
Follow the path below and confirm the same.

Start >Type services.msc >look for the service DCOM Server Process Launcher is started> double click on it and in the box that comes up make sure that you set it to "Automatic "
on the "startup type " drop down menu, then restart it" it was set to automatic
then this Next method that I can think for the time is to open the Disk Defragmenter with Administrator privilege.
this did not work.
then this: in the command prompt type defrag c: and press enter this did not work.
and this: In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
sfc /scannow this did not work and the answer was "windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

Is there something else i can try to get disk defrag to work with windows 7?
OK - I got it to work by start/computer/"c" drive/right click on it, TOOLS and then selecting disk defrag.

It is now working from there but not from the start menu icon i had pinned there so i will delete that icon.
Also start/accessories/system tools/ disk defrag icon is now gone from there.
So it look like I will have to just do the start/computer/c/ (right
click)/Tools/disk defrag to get it to run.

Is Disk Defragmenter shown to be running?
