Can't start up laptop except in Safe Mode (with Networking is the option I chose)

Hi I need help with something like this.
My laptop was fine working perfectly but then my internet went a bit wonky and while I was in the process of trying to fix it my computer froze.
I was as patient as possible but in the end I had to turn it off via
the power button. 
When I started it up again I chose start windows normally and it was fine until I entered my password.
The Welcome loading took forever when it started and when it finally logged in I got a weird warning saying 'Tablet driver error' and nothing but a black
screen behind it.
Literally there was nothing I could do so I had to shut down again and boot up in safe mode, which is fine except I can't access any of my heavier programmes like the Adobe suite etc.
Anyway I shut down properly with the start menu and tried
start up again, this time it worked better when I logged in and everything looked normal but still nothing would run/open and I gave it a longggg time. 
I also got the following warning messages; 
GfxUI.exe error
AvastUI.exe error
CLR error 80004005 Program will now terminate
and then something about an error in display the power and shutdown options.

I'm at my wits end with this!
