Computer freezes randomly when going into hibernation mode

Occasionally when shutting the computer down in hibernation mode, the screen will go black, but the lights on the computer will remain on.  This lasts until I force the computer to shutdown by holding the power button, no matter how long I wait.  It does
not happen all the time, but enough to be annoying.  I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that came with Windows Vista that I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Again, it does not happen all the time, so I do not know if there is a specific trigger, but I would like to know if there is something that can fix it.

You may try to disable andre-enable hibernation on your computer and check if it goes to hibernation mode and works fine without freezing.

Also you may try to update the chipset drivers and display on your Toshiba laptop and check if it helps you fix the issue.

Also you may open event viewer and check if there are any other significant error messages/codes related to the issue and post it back.

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.

Make sure your computer has at least the minimum amount of random access memory (RAM) required to run the program that is displaying the error. Look for the program requirements online or in the packaging information.
