Fsx Incompatible with windows 7??

I recently upgraded to windows 7,  after which I discovered I can no longer play fsx.  When I try to launch the program, a window pops up and says  "This application has failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect"  WTF is that
supposed to mean?  And how do I fix the problem?  This is one of several microsoft applications I have that are not working properly as of the upgrade.  I upgraded from Vista to reduce the amount of problems, and only created more.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X is compatible with Windows 7.
As such it appears to be some other problem causing this problem.
 
Few things you may try to get it work:
 
1.     Ensure that you have the latest drivers especially graphics card drivers.

2.     Install Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1
