Troubleshoot:IE won't let me log into any sites

IE won't let me log into any sites

It just happened today, but ie refuses to let me log into any websites.
I keep getting an error saying that IE cannot display the webpage after i press submit.
I have tried to resolve this by installing and uninstalling both IE7 and IE 8, I have tried
resetting my internet options, I have no system restore point besides today's for some reason, i have tried to delete browsing history etc.
I don't have any problems on my other computer, and i'm pretty sure it's not my connection since i can still log on
with other browsers, however, there are many sites that will not display correctly without ie...

I'm using a xp sp3

i've deleted the logs
